I created Psychology & Psychotherapy Centre to invite those who are feeling they are not at their best into a transformative and healing space.
is the Irish word for “Treasures” and I believe that, within our psyche, we all have inner resources that are, indeed, inner treasures! There are times in our lives, however, when we find these personal resources/treasures hard to see, reach, feel, value and use. Life experiences may have taken us away from our inner resources/treasures onto other paths and we may need some help (a map) to find our way back home to our true nature and the treasures within.
May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers,
To break the dead shell of yesterdays,
To risk being disturbed and changed.
May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer,
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.
As a Psychologist specialising in Psychotherapy I am committed to accompanying people to new frontiers… on their road of self discovery….connecting and cherishing their own inner treasures….letting soul sing and shine!
I attended NUI Galway and completed a joint honours degree in Psychology B.A. (Hons) in 1986. Then went on to the postgraduate research programme there and completed an M.A. (Hons) in Psychology in 1988.

I went to the UK and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in the University of Surrey in Guildford. Completed an M.Sc. in 1990 and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psych.D.) in 1995.
Specialised in Clinical Psychology within a forensic setting (maximum secure hospitals) in both England and Scotland.
Returned to Ireland in 1996 and worked in a range of settings: private, university and public services.
For eighteen years I was Director of Counselling in HSE National Counselling Service (NCS). Managing a dedicated counselling & psychotherapy service for adults who have experienced childhood trauma/abuse. I was also Director of the Counselling in Primary Care (CiPC) service across Cork & Kerry.
